In 2017 I was diagnosed with Stage I Breast Cancer. I started making these paintings after the first biopsy. Since my artwork is about embodiment, and this is an intensely embodied experience, painting is a way for me to process what is happening to me. When I make these paintings, I can look at myself both analytically and passionately.
